ASEU Director Artem Semenyshyn took part in an online event organized by the European Solar Association SolarPower Europe. The focus of the discussion is the growth of European solar energy markets and more ambitious expectations for Europe in the context of the European Green Deal.
In his presentation, the director of ASEU announced the growth of the solar market of Ukraine in 2020 and expectations for 2021. At the same time, the director told the representatives of the European Solar Community about the current challenges facing the solar energy market in Ukraine: the Government’s intention to introduce excise duty on RES producers, debts for 2020 and this year, international arbitration against the state due to last year’s unilateral retrospective legislation. , as well as lawsuits for debt collection. The director of ASEU also did not miss the issue of non-transparent rights to charge for imbalances and this year’s systematic restrictions on producers.
Representatives of European solar associations expressed support for Ukraine’s course on the transition to renewable energy sources and condemned the recent actions that slow down the energy transition to clean energy sources.
