The online publication «Novoe Vremy» has published a report on the importance of implementing energy storage systems and the complexities of this process. Serhiy Kravchuk, Director of KNESS Energy, Artem Semenyshyn, Executive Director of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Dombrovsky, Chairman of Global 100Re Ukraine and President of Eco Energy, shared their expert opinion.
Artem Semenyshyn noted the following: “ASEU supports the soonest appearance on the electricity market of energy storage systems as independent entities. We, as a profile solar association, also finalized the draft law № 2582 together with the deputies. ASEU, among numerous recommendations, proposed to add to the bill the concept of aggregators of home storage systems.
In practice, this works as follows. When the need arises, under a contract with the owner, such home storage systems (batteries) can be used by a company that manages a particular set of energy storage devices. At the command of the aggregator, all these dozens or even hundreds of batteries can supply electricity to the grid.
Abroad, private investors are interested in investing in electricity storage systems, even at the household level. Sometimes the system of energy storage with aggregation there can be, even, batteries of electric cars. World experience shows that government subsidies in any form to large and small “green” investors are already standard practice. If we want to get a real success story, we need real support from the state. ”
