On October 19, Artem Semenyshyn, Director of ASEU, and representatives of ASEU member companies took part in the discussion of the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on Stimulating Electricity Production from Alternative Energy Sources on Market Principles” presented by the Ministry of Energy.
The document provides for the introduction of a Feed-in-Premium system, or contracts for difference, for producers of renewable energy sources instead of fixed payments at the “green” tariff. Such a mechanism should be exclusively voluntary for all existing PV – this is the official position of the Association.
“It should be noted that most proposals from market participants and associations were not taken into account in the final version of the bill, and the text itself contains a significant number of legal inconsistencies and inconsistencies with current legislation,” said the ASEU director during the discussion.
