On August 5, 2022, the first innovative solar energy system Smartflower installed in Ukraine was officially opened in Ternopil.
The implementation of the project took place thanks to the cooperation of LLC “Energy Engineering Company” with the Austrian-American company in the field of alternative energy “Smart Flower Solar”.
SmartFlower uses advanced robotics and automation to intelligently track the sun, producing up to 40% more energy than traditional stationary solar panels. The sun-shaped structure has all the individual components such as solar panels, inverter, wiring, and battery to generate and store electricity. The petals of the flower open at dawn and follow the sun from east to west throughout the day.
Mykhailo Fedyshyn, CEO of “Energy Engineering Company”, noted during a personal conversation that:
“Our cooperation with Smart Flower Solar began a year ago. Then the idea of establishing such a flower in our native city of Ternopil arose. Smartflower technology is a smart solution when it is necessary to install solar power, but at the same time so that it fits into stylistic solutions, in particular near a private building and does not occupy large areas. The first flower appeared in Ternopil, but our goal is at least 100 Smartflowers in the near future on the territory of Ukraine. Such a solar flower is one of the rational solutions if the goal is one’s own autonomy, energy independence, and a conscious desire to demonstrate one’s commitment to environmental friendliness. The nominal power of the Smartflower solar system is 2.5 kW, so in a year you can get from 4000 to 6200 kilowatts of energy, depending on the weather and climate. “Smart flower” has already become popular in Europe and the USA.
Importantly, apart from the production of solar energy, another goal of the Smartflower installation is to raise public awareness and increase the use of renewable energy in everyday life. Using smart flowers, more people can generate their own clean electricity for their households. In this way, cities, communities and companies will largely become independent from the sharp rise in energy costs.”
Such technologies are already a requirement today, because thanks to such innovations, we can ensure our own energy security and energy independence, consciously contribute to the development of alternative energy sources, a step toward an ecologically clean environment, and pave the way to a sustainable future.
