The war with Russia significantly worsened the situation in the economy and the solar industry of Ukraine: more than 1 GW of solar plant capacity was lost, most of the new photovoltaic projects were suspended. Therefore, several specialized associations called for ensuring the recovery of Ukraine at the expense of RES with the aim of achieving 50% of electricity production from RES by 2030.
“As a measure to restore energy independence, we plan to install 1 million rooftop solar power plants throughout Ukraine – both domestic and industrial,” said Artem Semenyshyn.
