The Director of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine took part in the regular meeting of the Board of the Global Solar Council. The Board consists of representatives of companies and industry associations of the solar sector from Italy, the USA, Germany, China, France, Spain, Argentina.
During the meeting, Artem Semenyshyn spoke to the world solar community with a report on the state and prospects of the development of the solar energy market in Ukraine in 2020-2021.
The report referred to the initiatives of the Government and Ukrainian parliamentarians, which led to a dramatic reduction in the construction of new PV plants, the lack of auctions to support RES, large debts to solar producers, and the necessary measures to restore the industry after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Members of the Board of the Global Solar Council have expressed concern about the situation in solar energy in Ukraine. They also declared their support and readiness to help restore the Ukrainian solar industry, ”summed up Artem Semenyshyn, director of the ASEU.
