On September 7, 2022, The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine board meeting was held. Director Artem Semenyshyn and deputy director Iryna Skazko reported on the activities of the Association for the period from January 1, 2022, to September 1, 2022.
At the meeting of the Board, the report of the Association’s activities was approved and the problems of the renewable energy industry, and in particular, the solar industry, options for solving them, the future of solar electricity, and current issues of the Association’s activities were discussed.
A decision was made to develop initiatives that would contribute to the preservation, development, and overcoming of problems experienced by the solar industry, such as arrears from the “green” tariff, delays in the implementation of auctions, and “imbalances”.
A separate decision was made to organize the work of the Association’s Committees to determine priority proposals for the implementation of guarantees of the origin of electricity, the export of “green” energy to European countries, as well as the need to implement support for small distributed generation Net Billing, which would provide an opportunity for the solar industry to develop and recover, and would also contribute to the improvement of the investment climate and the attraction of investments in the sector of alternative energy sources.
Summing up, the members of the Board noted the significant impact of the Association’s activities during the martial law period as defending the interests of the RES industry at all levels of state policy implementation, as well as affirming the need for the development of the RES sector on the way to energy security and independence.
