The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine expresses its full support for the initiative to create the documentary Monolith: Power and Light in Ukraine.
The film is being produced by a team of Canadian creators who aim to share with the world the story of the courage and dedication of Ukrainian energy workers during the full-scale war.
The project seeks to highlight the daily work of thousands of energy sector professionals who, despite large-scale destruction of the energy infrastructure since the beginning of the invasion, tirelessly restore electricity and heat supply. Their work saves lives, supports critical infrastructure, and ensures the functioning of cities and villages.
The filmmaking team has approached SEAU for assistance in finding heroes for the documentary. The Association has already held an online meeting with the project representatives and guaranteed comprehensive support – from finding protagonists and organizing filming to providing communication and informational assistance.
“We support the idea of creating the documentary Monolith. The Association will take part in preparing stories about people for whom solar power plants helped survive blackouts and, in some cases, stay alive. We encourage contacting the Association with proposals to interview such citizens, entrepreneurs, and doctors,” said SEAU Chairman Vladyslav Sokolovsky.
The Association believes that telling the story of the resilience of Ukraine’s energy sector will serve as another strong argument in favor of transitioning to a sustainable, decentralized, and energy-independent power system that Ukraine will build after victory.
