On June 11, the final stage of the EcoSKILL educational project took place — the Job Fair, which brought together graduates of the solar PV installation course and installation companies currently experiencing a sharp shortage of qualified personnel.
EcoSKILL is implemented by the NGO “Association of Young Scientists of NTU ‘KhPI’” with the support of Razom for Ukraine and partners from the RES sector. The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) acted as the information partner of the EcoSKILL educational project and participated in the event at all levels.
SEAU’s Chairman of the Board, Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, addressed the participants with opening remarks, emphasizing that the shortage of skilled labor in the solar energy sector is one of the key challenges to its further development.
“We receive clear feedback from our members — installation companies, over 50 of which are listed in the Association’s Catalog: there is a lack of trained workers in the market. At the same time, at least 800 MW of new solar power capacity was installed in Ukraine in 2024 alone, mostly for businesses and households. This segment is rapidly growing, and the demand for qualified installers is only increasing,” – noted Mr. Sokolovskyi.
As part of the cooperation with NTU “KhPI”, SEAU announced the launch of a new section on the Installer Catalog website — Job Fair. This online platform will become a permanent tool connecting graduates of training programs and installation companies listed in SEAU’s catalog.
The Job Fair platform, as a part of the Installer Catalog, will provide:
- Installer companies registered in the Catalog with access to candidate profiles and resumes of course graduates;
- Graduates with the ability to submit information via a dedicated form including specialty, experience, and willingness to relocate.
In the future, the platform will cover not only installers, but also other professions essential to the solar energy sector.
“We plan to scale the project, involve more educational institutions and training companies, and gradually form a unified workforce hub for Ukraine’s solar energy sector,” added Mr. Sokolovskyi.
The Job Fair platform, like the Installer Catalog itself, is a free and non-commercial initiative of SEAU. The page is currently undergoing final testing and will soon be available to Catalog participants.
