SEAU Held an Open Meeting of the Energy Storage Committee with Sigenergy: Modularity as a New Standard for Energy Solutions

On April 2, 2026, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU), together with its partner Sigenergy, held an open meeting of the Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Committee titled: “Modularity Without Limits: Universal Modular BESS by Sigenergy.”

The event took place online via Zoom and brought together business representatives, installers, developers, and all stakeholders working with solar and energy storage solutions. The session was moderated by Serhii Ruchko, Head of SEAU’s BESS Committee.

The speaker, Artem Li, Country Manager of Sigenergy in Ukraine, presented the company’s innovative approach to energy storage systems based on modular architecture.

During the presentation, the speaker outlined the evolution of technologies – from centralized solutions to flexible modular systems that significantly improve the reliability and efficiency of energy projects.

“If a central inverter fails, the entire plant stops. In a modular architecture, the failure of a single component results in the loss of only part of the system, not the entire generation,” emphasized Artem Li.

According to the speaker, this principle forms the foundation of Sigenergy’s modular BESS solutions, offering an alternative to traditional containerized and cabinet-based systems.

Participants were introduced to the company’s key technical solutions, including:

  • modular architecture with precise capacity sizing based on customer needs;
  • easy installation without heavy equipment or complex infrastructure;
  • unlimited scalability;
  • integrated inverter and BESS within a unified DC architecture;
  • indoor and outdoor installation options (IP66).

Special attention was given to safety – critical for commercial systems.

“Even in critical scenarios, we have proven that fire does not spread between modules – each module is effectively isolated and protected,” the speaker noted.

Sigenergy systems feature multi-level protection, including fire suppression, temperature control, smoke detection, and insulating materials.

A separate part of the presentation focused on backup power capabilities. Sigenergy solutions provide 0 ms switching time, ensuring uninterrupted power supply without even short outages.

Participants also explored:

  • case studies from Europe, Africa, and other regions;
  • large-scale installations (up to tens of MWh);
  • solutions for integration with diesel generators and microgrids.

Founded in 2022, Sigenergy is already present in over 80 countries and continues to expand in Ukraine. The company combines innovative technologies with practical experience in regions with unstable energy systems.

Meeting participants активно engaged in discussion, raising practical questions about BESS deployment in Ukraine and receiving expert insights.

SEAU emphasizes that such events are an important tool for market development and the dissemination of advanced technological solutions.

Modular energy storage systems open new opportunities for businesses – from increasing energy independence to optimizing investments and reducing risks – especially relevant amid the ongoing transformation of Ukraine’s energy system.
