On 17 September 2026, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) will join the international SolarPower Europe webinar “Powering Ukraine’s recovery through solar PV and battery storage, and fostering opportunities for EU companies.”
The online event will take place via Zoom and bring together representatives of the Ukrainian energy sector, European institutions, businesses, and civil society.

Vladyslav Sokolovskyi will deliver a presentation titled “Ukraine’s solar PV and BESS market: current landscape, needs, challenges, and investment opportunities.” He will provide an up-to-date overview of the development of Ukraine’s solar PV and energy storage markets, outline their key needs and challenges, and highlight investment opportunities for international businesses.
Other speakers will include Máté Heisz, Chief Operating Officer at SolarPower Europe; Andriy Herus, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine; Gabriel Blanc, European Commission representative; Yuliana Onyshchuk, CEO of Energy Act for Ukraine; Marine Abramian, Green Energy Campaign Coordinator at Greenpeace Ukraine; as well as other European and Ukrainian experts.
The webinar will be moderated by Nicoleta Lipcaneanu, Project Officer at SolarPower Europe.
The webinar will focus on the role of solar generation and BESS in strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, rebuilding energy infrastructure, and attracting investment. Key topics will include the current state of the market and investment needs, regulatory policy, opportunities for European companies in project development, technology supply, partnerships and financing, as well as practical areas for Ukrainian-European cooperation.
SolarPower Europe emphasizes that for Ukraine, the combination of solar generation and BESS is not only a solution for the energy transition, but also a strategic pillar of the country’s recovery – enabling the rapid deployment of distributed generation, strengthening energy independence, and creating new investment and business opportunities.
Background: Representatives of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine – SEAU Chairman Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Head of the SEAU Legal Committee Ivan Balytsky, and Head of the SEAU Investment Committee Dmytro Lukomskyi – contributed to the preparation of the Ukrainian sections of SolarPower Europe’s studies on the solar energy and BESS sectors. For more than 2.5 months, SEAU experts collected and analyzed data on Ukraine’s solar energy and energy storage sectors. The collected materials and analytical work contributed to the European Battery Market Outlook 2026-2030 and Global Solar Market Outlook 2026-2030.
