The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the “Together with Kernel” charitable foundation to implement the project “Solar Energy for Communities”.
The document establishes a partnership aimed at deploying solar power plants at social infrastructure facilities – including schools, hospitals, kindergartens, sports and cultural institutions. The cooperation is focused on strengthening the energy independence of communities, reducing energy costs, and fostering resilient and environmentally responsible local ecosystems.
The project aims for the comprehensive development of communities through the use of renewable energy sources, the implementation of energy-efficient solutions, and the adoption of modern technologies.
The parties will cooperate in the following areas:
- informational and advisory support, including support for local communities;
- technical analysis of facilities and supervision of solar power plant installation;
- engagement of SEAU experts for solution assessment and consulting;
- assistance in securing financing, grants, and charitable resources;
- organization of transparent tenders among contractors and installers;
- joint monitoring and evaluation of results, including energy savings and CO₂ emission reduction.
This partnership is an important step toward building modern energy infrastructure in communities and ensuring the stable operation of social institutions, especially under heightened risks and challenges to Ukraine’s energy system.
As part of the cooperation, SEAU will also support the provision of special conditions and expert assistance to communities and foundation partners, involving specialists and SEAU member companies in project implementation at the local level.
SEAU continues to expand its network of partnerships and initiatives that contribute to the development of renewable energy in Ukraine and strengthen the nation’s energy resilience – working together to ensure that every community has access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy.
