SEAU and the General Energy Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On October 1, 2025, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine and the General Energy Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at developing scientific and technological potential and fostering innovation in the renewable energy sector.

The document was signed by Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the Board of SEAU, and Vitalii Babak, Director of the Institute of General Energy Institute of NASU.

The signing of the Memorandum marks an important step toward strengthening collaboration between the scientific community and the energy business to build a new model of sustainable industry development.

The purpose of the agreement is to consolidate efforts in the fields of scientific research, educational initiatives, professional training, and implementation of innovative solutions in solar energy. The document provides for cooperation in conducting joint studies, organizing conferences, seminars, and training sessions, as well as developing educational materials and scientific publications.

A separate area of cooperation focuses on the development of systems for recycling and disposal of solar panels, particularly within the framework of the European scientific and innovation project RETRIEVE (Reintegration of photovoltaic panel waste back into manufacturing as high-value products), implemented under the Horizon Europe program and funded by the European Union.

The parties also agreed to jointly develop a certification system for professional installers and companies providing photovoltaic system installation services. This includes creating qualification standards, evaluation criteria, and public awareness campaigns promoting certified specialists.

“This Memorandum is another example of how business and science can join forces to advance renewable energy development in Ukraine. We are confident that our collaboration with the Institute of General Energy of the NAS of Ukraine will foster technological progress, strengthen human capital, and build greater trust in the solar energy market,”

– said Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the Board of SEAU.

Cooperation under the Memorandum will serve as a foundation for implementing new scientific and practical initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of Ukraine’s energy system and integrating it into the European energy space.
