The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine’s partner, Huawei Ukraine, served as the official partner of the annual “Business Energy” Forum, which took place on October 24 in Kyiv.
The event brought together over 300 participants and 30 speakers from the public and private sectors, energy businesses, investment organizations, and regulatory bodies to discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence.
This year’s forum focused on the role of business in ensuring energy resilience and developing modern technologies in the renewable energy sector — particularly local generation systems and the emerging energy storage systems (BESS) market. Participants discussed the readiness of the power system for the winter season, investment opportunities, and innovative solutions in the renewable energy field.
During the panel discussion on BESS development, Oleksandr Alokhin, Head of Huawei Digital Power in Ukraine, shared the company’s vision for implementing technological solutions for energy flexibility and backup systems, alongside representatives from KNESS and DTEK Renewables. He emphasized that energy storage systems are a fundamental component of modern energy infrastructure, shaping a new level of energy security. BESS solutions are already being deployed for both residential and industrial use, helping increase self-consumption of solar power, serve as backup power sources, and enhance the resilience of the energy system.
Mr. Alokhin also highlighted the technological advantages of Huawei’s solutions — a high efficiency rate (91.3%), minimal energy losses, a multi-level safety system, hybrid cooling technology, and continuous, maintenance-free operation thanks to automated monitoring. These features have been proven in real-world conditions — including a case where a storage system withstood the impact of a Shahed drone fragment.
Further emphasizing the reliability and technological sophistication of Huawei’s products, Artem Li, Huawei Distribution Manager, outlined the five-level protection system and the benefits of hybrid cooling, which ensure safe and long-term operation.
Huawei’s participation as a forum partner demonstrates its consistent commitment to supporting the transformation of Ukraine’s energy market and the development of energy storage systems as a key element of a decentralized, efficient, and resilient Ukrainian energy system.
The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) congratulates its partner and expresses gratitude for Huawei’s contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence.
