The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine congratulates its partner – DTEK Renewables – on receiving two prestigious Energy Storage Awards 2025 for its 200 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project.
The project, implemented jointly with the American company Fluence, a global leader in BESS technologies, won in two major categories:
- Best Overall European Storage Project
- Developer of the Year
This is a unique international recognition of Ukraine’s technological breakthrough in the field of energy storage – especially considering that the systems were built in record time. Only one year passed from the initial concept to the commissioning of BESS facilities across six locations – all amid the challenges of a full-scale war.
During the awards ceremony in London, Oleh Solovei, Deputy CEO of DTEK Renewables, emphasized that these awards reflect the joint efforts of all partners and the strong support of Europe during difficult times.
The Energy Storage Awards, held for the third time, celebrate innovation and leading achievements in the field of energy storage. For Ukraine, this is an important international signal: Ukrainian companies are not only implementing record-scale projects, but also shaping the future standards of the industry.
The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine sincerely congratulates the DTEK Renewables team on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of the success of Ukrainian energy companies and strongly believe that such accomplishments strengthen Ukraine’s role on the global energy map, contribute to the development of the BESS sector, and inspire the entire community to work even harder for the country’s energy resilience.
