The executive director of the association, Artem Semenyshyn, spoke live on Channel 24 (Ukraine). The topic of discussion was the damage caused to green energy during the full-scale war and prospects for the development of RES in Ukraine.
“Today, it is difficult to accurately assess the extent of the damage. According to the Ministry of Energy, about 30% of the capacity is currently not being generated, and a large part of the capacity is damaged. According to preliminary estimates, about 500 MW of solar power plants were damaged and a large part did not generate energy for the grid. Domestic solar power plants were also damaged, but the number is difficult to estimate,” said Artem Semenyshyn.
He also assured that the share of “green” energy will clearly grow rapidly in Ukraine. There are various prerequisites for this, including economic ones. Within 10 years, Ukraine can increase the share of RES to 40-50% of the total amount of electricity produced.
Green energy is our energy independence, which we need so much now.
