In June, an important event for Ukraine will take place – the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) 2024.
The main goal of the URC is to mobilize ongoing international support for the reconstruction, recovery, reform, and modernization of Ukraine, including “green” energy.
The conference will consider proposals from the private renewable energy sector regarding the reconstruction of Ukraine, particularly issues related to green transformation and expanding international cooperation.
The public association Global 100 RE Ukraine is actively involved in organizing the URC. Global 100 RE Ukraine works on accelerating the energy transition with the aim of achieving energy independence based on clean and sustainable energy. The Ukrainian Solar Energy Association, a co-founder of Global 100 RE Ukraine, is also participating in the Ukraine Recovery Conference.
The URC is organized with the support of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) and the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
The event will be attended by representatives of the governments of Ukraine and Germany, as well as business representatives, relevant associations, and companies specializing in construction and investment in renewable energy sources.
Topics planned for discussion:
– What role do renewable energy companies and their business associations from Ukraine and Germany play in the recovery of Ukraine?
– What political measures and reforms are needed for renewable energy companies to participate in the green recovery of Ukraine?
– What are the obstacles to financing and how can they be overcome?
– What is needed from politicians to support business cooperation in the renewable energy sector between Germany and Ukraine?
On May 22, as part of the preparation for the URC, an online event will take place. Participants from the Ukrainian Solar Energy Association, along with other representatives of the renewable energy sector, will be able to discuss and prepare questions and proposals for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) 2024. Jointly developed statements will be sent to the conference’s political partners and published through media channels.
