On June 25–26, Kyiv hosted the 14th International Conference and Exhibition on Solar Energy in Central and Eastern Europe — CISOLAR 2025.
The event brought together key market players, investors, representatives of public institutions, the banking sector, and the expert community. It was held within the framework of the SEF 2025 Kyiv Sustainable Energy Forum, organized by Ibcentre with the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) as the general partner.
The CISOLAR platform traditionally serves as a hub for meaningful discussions, new partnerships, and the exploration of solutions to ensure Ukraine’s energy security. This year’s conference program was rich and covered all current areas of renewable energy development, including microgrids, energy system management innovations, investment attraction, overcoming institutional barriers, and digital energy transformation.
SEAU was represented by:
-
Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, SEAU Chairman of the Board, who spoke in the opening session;
-
Ivan Balytskyi, Head of SEAU’s Legal Committee, who moderated the panel on renewable energy investments;
-
Yuriy Favorskyi, SEAU Board Member, who moderated the session on innovative technologies and digital energy.
The first session, titled “Ukraine’s Energy Resilience – Challenges, Legislation, Technologies,” explored the role of state enterprises in transforming the energy market, strategic energy policy priorities, decentralized generation, microgrids, and institutional barriers to innovation.
Vladyslav Sokolovskyi joined the discussion alongside Yuliya Daviy (Sustainable Innovation Council), Artem Nekrasov (State Enterprise “Guaranteed Buyer”), Oleksandr Havva (Market Operator JSC), Olha Buslavets (former Minister of Energy of Ukraine), and Nadiya Petrochenko (SPP Development Ukraine). The panel was moderated by Oleh Havrysh, Chief Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Vladyslav Sokolovskyi emphasized: “Agri-voltaics, self-consumption PV systems, and energy storage are not just technologies — they are real answers to the challenges of energy security. Improved legislation, the elimination of VAT and import duties, and falling technology costs are making energy independence and savings achievable for every business and community. The sun is already paying the bills!”
The second session focused on investment in renewable energy projects, including mechanisms for financing, the role of state banks, corporate support, new financial tools, and green banking. The panel, moderated by Ivan Balytskyi (SEAU), featured contributions from Oleksii Savin (Ukrgasbank), Olesia Mishchenko (Ukrainian Decarbonization Fund), Yevhen Myachin (Oschadbank), and Kseniia Kovalenko (Rayton Sun UA).
Ivan Balytskyi noted: “The adoption of the Law on Green Transformation ends the era of fixed feed-in tariffs for industrial PV. Investors now have new market-based tools: net billing, self-consumption, wholesale market sales, and green auctions — opening the door for strategic capital”.
The third session, “Implementation and Management of Renewable Energy Projects in Ukraine’s Realities,” addressed topics such as financing, logistics, decentralized management, and the role of communities. Speakers included Oleksii Onipko (Onipko Energy), Oleksandr Kysilov (ECU), Valerii Bezus (Energy Club), Serhii Kosharyk (Association of Energy Efficient Cities of Ukraine), and Iryna Bryk (ISO Company). The session was moderated by Roman Zinchenko, co-founder of Greencubator.
The final session, “Technologies, Digital Energy, and Innovations,” covered topics such as AI/ML in energy forecasting and management, digital transformation, smart metering, and next-gen energy system architectures. It was moderated by Yuriy Favorskyi (SEAU), with speakers including Oleksandr Simonov (Odeskabel), Maksym Babaiev (VITAGRO), and Roman Zinchenko (Greencubator).
Yuriy Favorskyi emphasized: “Digital energy is not the future — it’s a current necessity. Innovation is the key to efficiency, transparency, and adaptability of our energy systems”.
The first day concluded with the CISOLAR AWARDS ceremony, traditionally recognizing the best projects, solutions, and technologies in the solar energy sector.
On June 26, the events GREEN BATTERY 2025 and Energy REBUILD 2025 were held.
At GREEN BATTERY, discussions focused on cutting-edge energy storage and autonomous systems, featuring speakers such as Yuliia Usenko (SDIA), Andrii Konechenkov (UWEA), Klavdiia Yatsyshyna (UN Global Compact), Oleksii Sinitsyn (Unisolar), and Oleksii Prystaia (Bioenergy Technologies), with moderation by Yuriy Favorskyi.
The final roundtable of Energy REBUILD focused on strategies for rebuilding the energy infrastructure, digitalization, decentralization, cybersecurity, and the role of international partnerships. Speakers included Dmytro Lukomskyi (Avenston), Heorhii Heletukha (UABIO), Nadiya Vasylyeva (Digital Transformation Institute), and Vitalii Gordon (Sun Energy Group), moderated by Alina Sevastsiuk (VisionFund Ukraine).
The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to the organizers, participants, and partners for delivering such a high-level event. We firmly believe: only through partnership, expertise, and collective action can we build an energy-independent, sustainable, and modern Ukraine.
