On February 12, the Chairman of the Board of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, Vladyslav Sokolovsky, the Director of SEАU, Oleksandr Kisilova, and SEАU Board Member, Yevhen Babak, met with the Economic and Energy Advisor of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine, Sirak Masuye, and the representative of the economic department of the Embassy, Yevheniia Chobotova.
The meeting took place in the office space of NRG.space, a partner of our Association – the company “Atmosphere”. Yevhen Babak acquainted the guests with the technical solutions implemented by “Atmosphere” to ensure power supply to the office center and demonstrated the uninterrupted power supply system for the NRG.space office space.
The company “Atmosphere” installed a 3-phase backup power system for NRG.space with monitoring and remote adjustment capabilities. Inverters: MultiPlus-II 48/8000/110-100 – 3 units, Batteries: Dyness A48100 – 6 units. Total load capacity: 19.2 kW. Peak load capacity: 45 kW. Battery park capacity: 28.8 kWh. Guaranteed number of charge-discharge cycles: 6000. The system provides 5 hours of office operation in standard mode from the batteries. In the economical mode (powering computers, internet, partial lighting), the system is set to operate for over 12 hours.
During the meeting, possible directions for Ukrainian-German cooperation were discussed. One of the global issues awaiting resolution by the energy sector in Ukraine is the recognition of Ukrainian Guarantees of Origin by Germany and the entire European Union. Perspectives on holding auctions for the distribution of support quotas and implementing a market premium mechanism were exchanged. The advantages and disadvantages of such state stimulation instruments were discussed. The need to strengthen market mechanisms that would promote the development of renewable energy sources in Ukraine was emphasized.
The topic of the new market for ancillary services of energy storage was also touched upon. Its development is important for our country and should contribute to attracting investments in the energy sector. Therefore, the experience of Germany is relevant for Ukraine. It was also noted the necessity of involvement of independent players to increase the level of competition in this market segment.
Additionally, an agreement was reached on the exchange of knowledge and experience in technical and economic-legal matters. German technical regulations, standards, and requirements for the installation and operation of solar power plants, as well as property insurance rules for rooftop solar power plants, will be of interest for preventing fire hazards.
Sirak Masuye noted: “The interest of German companies and investors in the Ukrainian RES market is growing, and it is not only about industrial solar power plants, but also about small solar power plants for self-consumption. Accordingly, the exchange of relevant information between the Embassy of Germany and SEAU will help strengthen ties between entrepreneurs of our countries and the development of green generation.”
We thank Mr. Sirak Masuye for the conversation and the opportunity to continue exchanging experience between our countries. We hope for further fruitful cooperation.
