On 8 September 2026, a webinar will be held focusing on the opportunities to use solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to enhance the energy independence of construction projects, reduce electricity costs, and create additional benefits for development and commercial properties.
Topic: “Solar PV as a Tool for Energy Independence of Construction Projects: Technical Aspects of Solar PV Installation”
Organisers: The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) and the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU).
Participants will learn about the legal instruments for using an on-site solar PV system, opportunities for self-consumption and self-generation of electricity, as well as practical technical aspects of designing, installing and integrating solar PV systems into construction projects.
- Date: 8 September 2026

Webinar Programme
Part 1. Solar PV as a Tool for Energy Independence of Construction Projects
Speaker: Ivan Balytsky, Head of the SEAU Legal Committee, Partner at Sokolovskyi & Partners Law Firm, member of the CBU
The presentation will cover:
- Electricity self-consumption: how construction companies and commercial property owners can legally reduce their electricity costs;
- Self-generation and the status of an active consumer: new opportunities for developers, residential complexes, business centres and industrial facilities;
- Other legal instruments for generating revenue from an on-site solar PV system — support auctions, participation in the wholesale electricity market, and electricity sales through traders and aggregators.
Part 2. Technical Aspects of Solar PV Installation
Speaker: Oleksii Shyshkanov, Head of Alternative Energy at Dolya Solar Energy, SEAU General Partner
The presentation will cover:
- how to determine the optimal system capacity and take the facility’s consumption profile into account;
- building-specific considerations and the proper integration of a solar PV system into the facility’s internal electrical network;
- how to integrate solar PV into new construction projects as an additional competitive advantage for buyers and investors;
- specific considerations when connecting a solar PV system to external electricity grids.
Participants will have an opportunity to ask the speakers questions and receive practical guidance on the legal and technical aspects of installing and using solar PV systems in construction projects.
We invite developers, construction companies, commercial property owners, representatives of residential complexes, business centres and industrial facilities, as well as everyone interested in implementing energy independence solutions for construction projects to join the webinar.
