On 9 September 2026, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) signed the Declaration of Accession to the Ukraine Energy Initiative (UEI) of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine.
The Ukraine Energy Initiative brings together businesses and organizations to accelerate the recovery, modernization, and sustainable development of Ukraine’s energy sector. As of 2026, 81 businesses and organizations have already joined the Initiative.
For SEAU, joining the UEI provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with representatives of the energy business, government institutions, and international partners on the energy transition, renewable energy development, decentralization, investment attraction, and the modernization of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
Key principles of partnership within the Initiative include:
- open exchange and consolidation of business expertise while maintaining competitive relationships among participants;
- cooperation with international and Ukrainian companies and organizations to combine local expertise with global experience;
- supporting the changes needed in Ukraine to accelerate the energy transition;
- developing new decarbonization roadmaps and promoting the development of sustainable industries;
- supporting inclusivity and gender equality in recovery and energy transition processes;
- accelerating capital mobilization and the implementation of new energy projects.
For SEAU, joining the Ukraine Energy Initiative is an important step towards strengthening professional and cross-sector cooperation aimed at the recovery and transformation of Ukraine’s energy sector.
