On March 20, the Chairman of the SEАU Vladyslav Sokolovskyi along with the Director of the SEАU Oleksandr Kisilov met at the Embassy of Poland with the advisor to the head of the economic department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine Dawid Tomaszewski and the President of the “Hanplast Energy Board” Henryk Jendrej.
During this meeting, potential directions for Ukrainian-Polish cooperation were discussed. Considering today’s mass shelling and attacks on the Ukrainian energy system, the SEАU continues to seek assistance and support from our international partners to improve the resilience and reliability of our country’s energy supply.
It’s worth noting that since May 2022, approximately 80 shipments of humanitarian aid for energy needs have arrived from Poland to Ukraine, totalling about 1,500 tons of equipment. Among the provided equipment are generators, transformers, insulators, reinforced concrete supports, electrical cables, as well as emergency power systems, disconnectors, and other materials necessary for repair work.
The Ukrainian-Polish partnership is extremely important, and we express our gratitude for the assistance provided to the energy sector.
The experience of war has shown that Ukraine needs professional models of an efficient energy system to increase its reliability and reduce the risks of disconnections. The basis of these changes lies in decentralized green generation and the transition to RES. Currently, Poland’s experience in this matter is undoubtedly valuable and necessary for Ukraine, including the implementation of European legislation.
During this meeting, the SEАU secured support from Polish colleagues and agreed to cooperate in the field of renewable energy, exchange accumulated experience, and participate in organizing events.
