Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU), took part in the German-Ukrainian GreenTech Investment Round Table and Business Breakfast, held in Kyiv on 19 August with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian and German governments, businesses, and expert communities.
The event provided an important platform for discussing investment in Ukraine during the war, recovery financing, investment insurance and risk mitigation, as well as the prospects for implementing specific projects in the field of green technologies.
The participants were welcomed by Carsten Schneider, German Federal Minister for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety; Oleksandr Kravchenko, Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine; Sören Bartol, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building; and Oleh Bondarenko, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management.
The German delegation also included Jörg Ebel, President of the German Solar Association (BSW-Solar). SEAU has been actively cooperating with BSW-Solar for many years, particularly on the development of Ukraine’s solar energy sector and international cooperation.
“The meeting with representatives of the German government and business community was productive. We discussed further concrete steps to support preparations of Ukraine’s energy sector for the upcoming heating season. During informal discussions, I shared our experience of endurance and resilience in the challenging wartime conditions we face today. I am convinced that this experience is highly valuable for our European partners,” said Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of SEAU.
During the event, participants discussed opportunities to strengthen Ukrainian-German cooperation and attract international capital for Ukraine’s recovery. Particular attention was given to creating conditions that would enable investment projects to be implemented even amid wartime risks.
For SEAU, the development of international partnerships and the attraction of investment in renewable energy remain among its key areas of work. Cooperation between government institutions, international partners, financial organisations, and businesses is essential for delivering a large-scale green recovery of Ukraine and building distributed generation and a modern energy system.
