On 24 June 2026, Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, Chairman of the Board of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, represented Ukraine’s solar community at the Global Associations Workshop, held as part of Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich.
The event was organized by SolarPower Europe, Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft (BSW), and the Global Solar Council.
The workshop brought together representatives of national solar associations from more than 30 countries, along with international businesses, government institutions, and industry experts to discuss global trends in solar energy development, regulatory changes, practical experience, and industry best practices.
As part of the workshop, representatives from each participating country presented the current state of their national solar markets, highlighting key achievements and challenges. Vladyslav Sokolovskyi delivered the presentation on behalf of Ukraine.
During his presentation, he outlined the transformation of Ukraine’s solar energy and battery energy storage (BESS) market under the conditions of the full-scale war.
“Despite the extensive destruction of energy infrastructure, Ukraine continues to actively expand decentralized generation and deploy advanced Solar + BESS solutions,” the expert noted.
Particular attention was given to the latest market trends. Mr. Sokolovskyi emphasized that more than 1.5 GW of new solar capacity and over 1 GWh of battery energy storage systems were commissioned in Ukraine during 2025 alone. According to SEAU’s estimates, the market is expected to maintain its strong growth momentum in the coming years.
“Today, Solar + BESS in Ukraine is no longer just about decarbonization. Above all, it is about energy security, community resilience, and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of businesses and critical infrastructure. This practical experience is what Ukraine can already offer the international energy community,” said Vladyslav Sokolovskyi.
SEAU’s participation in the Global Associations Workshop provided another important opportunity to present the current state of Ukraine’s renewable energy market to the international community, share practical experience gained under wartime conditions, and discuss prospects for further cooperation with national industry associations, international organizations, and businesses.
