International Interest in Ukraine’s Energy Sector Remains Strong: SEAU Participates in the Embassy of Italy’s Webinar

On May 19, 2026, Dmytro Lukomskyi, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU), participated in the international webinar “Energy Industry in Ukraine,” organized by the Trade Promotion Section of the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine in cooperation with the Italian association ANIE.

The event focused on the current state of Ukraine’s energy sector, prospects for cooperation between Ukrainian and Italian businesses, opportunities for international investors, and issues related to the recovery and modernization of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

ANIE is one of Italy’s largest industry associations in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and industrial engineering, bringing together more than 1,100 companies. The webinar served as a platform for dialogue between representatives of Ukraine’s energy sector and Italian businesses regarding potential areas of cooperation in renewable energy, energy storage systems, equipment supply, and infrastructure projects.

The event brought together more than 60 participants, including representatives of government institutions from Ukraine and Italy, international financial institutions, energy companies, and industry associations. The webinar was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa. Other speakers included Valentyna Moskalenko, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, representatives of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, DTEK, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, and the Italian financial institution Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.

During the event, Dmytro Lukomskyi discussed the transformation of Ukraine’s power system under wartime conditions, the development of solar generation and battery energy storage systems (BESS), and new investment models emerging in the Ukrainian market.

The speaker noted that Solar PV + BESS solutions are being actively deployed by industrial enterprises, the agricultural sector, logistics companies, local communities, and private households across Ukraine.

During his presentation, Mr. Lukomskyi highlighted new approaches to investing in solar generation and energy storage systems, the development of the ancillary services market, and government support mechanisms for Solar PV + BESS projects.

“Today, the Ukrainian solar energy and energy storage market is creating new investment opportunities for international businesses – from self-consumption and energy arbitrage models to participation in the ancillary services market and green auctions,” the expert noted.

SEAU emphasized that energy storage systems now play a strategic role in shaping a modern, flexible, and resilient Ukrainian power system by providing businesses and communities with greater energy security and autonomy.

SEAU’s participation in the event marked another step toward strengthening international dialogue and expanding cooperation between Ukrainian and European businesses in the energy sector.

“For international investors, Ukraine remains one of the most promising energy markets in Europe, as the need for new generation capacity, energy storage systems, and infrastructure modernization is already measured in tens of gigawatts,” emphasized Dmytro Lukomskyi.

Following the webinar, the organizers also announced a series of bilateral meetings between Ukrainian and Italian companies interested in cooperation within the energy sector.

SEAU would like to thank the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine, ANIE, and all webinar participants for the constructive professional discussion and their support for the development of Ukraine’s energy sector.
