Oleksii Shyshkanov, Head of the Alternative Energy Department at Dolya Solar Energy<\/a>, a general partner of SEAU, stated in an interview with Komersant Ukrainskyi that demand for solar power plants, inverters, and energy storage systems in Ukraine has effectively doubled over the past year.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

According to him, the market is demonstrating steady positive dynamics, with <\/span>businesses, homeowners associations (HOAs), and private households<\/b> acting as the main drivers of growth. <\/span><\/p>\n

Companies are investing in solar generation to reduce electricity costs and ensure energy independence, while for households, the key factor remains <\/span>backup power during outages<\/b>.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The expert noted that the increase in demand is largely driven by <\/span>security challenges and damage to energy infrastructure<\/b>. Under such conditions, electricity becomes a critical resource, and investments in self-generation serve as a practical solution to ensure stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, for most of the year, there was a gradual <\/span>decline in equipment prices (by 3-5%)<\/b>. However, towards the end of the year, prices began to rise again due to <\/span>increased demand and a global shortage of batteries<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the expert, installing solar power plants remains <\/span>economically viable<\/b>, especially for businesses, where projects can achieve a <\/span>payback period of around two years on average<\/b>. For households, the key benefit lies not only in cost savings but also in <\/span>energy autonomy<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

SEAU emphasizes that such dynamics indicate <\/span>structural changes in the market<\/b>: solar energy and energy storage systems are becoming an integral part of the country\u2019s <\/span>energy security<\/b> and a key element in the development of a <\/span>decentralized energy system in Ukraine<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
