On 11 December 2025, an open meeting of the SEAU Energy Storage Systems (ESS) Committee was held on the platform of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU). The event was jointly organized with VIATEC, a member company of the Association, and KSTAR.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
The meeting topic, <\/span>\u201cEnergy Security of a Building: How to Combine Video Surveillance, Power Supply, and Energy Storage,\u201d<\/b> brought together market representatives interested in practical solutions to enhance the resilience of residential and commercial facilities amid unstable electricity supply.<\/span><\/p>\n The meeting was moderated by <\/span>Serhii Ruchko<\/b>, Head of the SEAU ESS Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n Speakers:<\/b><\/p>\n During the event, participants focused on the interconnection between <\/span>energy security and physical protection of facilities<\/b>. It was emphasized that video surveillance systems, security complexes, server, and network equipment are critically dependent on continuous and high-quality power supply. In the event of outages or unstable voltage, such systems lose functionality, creating direct security risks.<\/span><\/p>\n Ivan Divochka: <\/b>\u201cSecurity systems must operate precisely when power supply problems occur. Without stable power, video surveillance, servers, and networks simply do not perform their function, creating a direct threat to the security of both homes and businesses.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Special attention was paid to the role of <\/span>uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)<\/b>, <\/span>energy storage systems (ESS)<\/b>, and their integration with engineering and security systems. Participants were presented with an approach to <\/span>comprehensive backup of entire facilities rather than individual subsystems<\/b>, ensuring stable operation of critical infrastructure in both residential and business scenarios.<\/span><\/p>\n Nataliia Cherniaieva: <\/b>\u201cToday, clients increasingly view energy storage systems not only as backup solutions but also as tools for energy management and risk reduction for businesses.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The event reviewed numerous practical use cases, including:<\/span><\/p>\n The discussion also covered <\/span>power quality issues<\/b>, the need for a <\/span>\u201cpure sine wave,\u201d<\/b> fast or instantaneous switching to backup power, integration with diesel generators, and preparation of internal electrical networks for ESS implementation. Significant attention was paid to <\/span>smart home solutions<\/b> and <\/span>scenario-based energy management<\/b>, enabling the separation of critical and non-critical loads.<\/span><\/p>\n Following the discussion, it was emphasized that <\/span>energy storage systems are not only backup tools<\/b>, but also a foundation for increased autonomy, controllability, and long-term resilience of both residential properties and businesses. In the context of rising tariffs and changes in the electricity market model, such solutions are increasingly perceived as <\/span>strategic investments<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n Serhii Ruchko: <\/b>\u201cToday, energy security is not a standalone engineering task but a fundamental condition for stable business operations and facility protection.
