Participants were welcomed by representatives of <strong>governmental and business institutions of Finland and Ukraine<\/strong>, including <strong>Henri Riihim\u00e4ki<\/strong>, Senior Specialist of the Embassy of Finland in Kyiv, and <strong>Yevhen Plaskin<\/strong>, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chairman of SEAU, <strong>Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, delivered an in-depth presentation on the current state and prospects of solar generation and battery energy storage systems (BESS) development in Ukraine<\/strong>. In his speech, he highlighted key market trends, arguments in favor of investing in \u201cPV + BESS\u201d, and outlined SEAU\u2019s role in shaping a professional ecosystem for the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSolar energy in Ukraine has not stopped developing even during the full-scale war\u201d, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sokolovskyi emphasized.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to him, the total installed solar capacity has reached <\/span><b>7,500 MW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and 2024\u20132025 became record years in terms of growth rates:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>2024:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 800 MW of new PV capacity installed and the first megawatt-scale BESS projects commissioned;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>2025:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> more than 1,000 MW of new solar generation added and <\/span><b>500 MWh of BESS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> deployed.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSolar generation combined with storage systems is actively being implemented by businesses, communities, and households. The demand for energy independence today is stronger than ever\u201d, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the SEAU Chairman noted.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sokolovskyi stressed that energy storage systems have become critically important:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cToday, BESS is no longer an option \u2014 it is a necessity. It provides the ability to balance generation, operate through energy arbitrage, and ensure the stability of businesses and the energy system.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the event, Ukrainian and Finnish companies presented their projects and solutions in the fields of modular construction, energy efficiency, renewable energy, manufacturing platforms, and infrastructure development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discussion featured representatives of Finnish and Ukrainian businesses and institutions, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Birgit Nevala<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Director of the Finnpartnership Program<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Anatoliy Berkuta<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Vice President of the Confederation of Builders of Ukraine (CBU)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Yurii Tromsa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Director, Peikko Ukraine<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Andrii Mokriakiv<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Senior Consultant, Pro-Consulting<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as well as representatives of <\/span><b>HONKA, Andritz Oy, Itula Oy, Konecranes Ukraine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Ukrainian manufacturing and development companies, local authorities, and business associations.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants devoted considerable attention to the challenges facing Ukraine\u2019s construction sector and the opportunities for its development in partnership with international companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>In particular, they discussed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> industrial and investment opportunities;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the creation of manufacturing clusters;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the development of energy-efficient technologies;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the resilience of energy infrastructure during wartime;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prospects for joint projects in the modernization and reconstruction of Ukraine.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine highly values the opportunity to represent the renewable energy sector on international platforms and strengthen cooperation with foreign partners.
