{"id":20383,"date":"2025-11-05T13:11:57","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T11:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aseu.org.ua\/?p=20383"},"modified":"2025-11-05T13:11:57","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T11:11:57","slug":"energy5-solar-trackers-innovations-that-increase-pv-plant-output","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aseu.org.ua\/en\/energy5-solar-trackers-innovations-that-increase-pv-plant-output\/","title":{"rendered":"Energy5 Solar Trackers: Innovations that Increase PV Plant Output"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><i>On October 30, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine held a joint webinar with the Polish company Energy5, a leading Polish manufacturer of solutions for the solar energy sector and a member of SEAU.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The topic of the meeting was <\/span><b>\u201cSolar Trackers: Improving Energy Efficiency with Energy5 Solutions\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event was moderated by <\/span><b>Dmytro Lukomskyi, Advisor to the Chairman of SEAU<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The keynote speaker was <\/span><b>Jakub Balter, Commercial Director of Energy5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, who presented the technological and economic advantages of tracker systems. <\/span><b>Adrian Ma\u0142achowski, Technical Consultant<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, complemented the presentation with technical details and provided comprehensive answers to numerous participant questions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants learned how solar tracking systems enable an energy production increase of <\/span><b>15\u201325% compared to fixed-tilt structures<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reduce weather-related impact, and optimize project profitability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the presentation, Energy5 representatives discussed:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">structural features of trackers \u2013 central motor, damping system, polymer-insert bearings, and a modular axis with <\/span><b>Magnelis\u00ae coating<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> providing <\/span><b>25-year corrosion protection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">automatic snow removal and smart tilt angle control depending on wind speed;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>3D-backtracking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> function minimizing shading between panel rows;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ability to integrate with backup power sources (UPS), ensuring a safe panel position in case of a power outage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special attention was given to the <\/span><b>Agri-PV<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> topic \u2013 combining crop cultivation and solar power generation on the same land plot. The speakers demonstrated how partial shading from panels creates a favorable microclimate, protects crops from overheating, and reduces water consumption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The speakers also showcased implemented projects and presented analytics: <\/span><b>annual generation increase of over 13%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and additional income may reach <\/span><b>18% depending on electricity market prices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Energy5 has <\/span><b>over 10 years of experience, 1.5 GW of manufacturing capacity, and 6 GW of installed structures in Europe<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Automation filters short-term gusts to avoid false triggers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Snow load:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a snow sensor measures snow thickness; if the threshold is exceeded, a snow-shedding mode (east\/west tilting) is activated. If strong wind occurs simultaneously, wind-safety mode takes priority.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Efficiency &amp; Generation<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Actual production gain:<\/b> <b>13-29%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, depending on location. Highest results achieved at sites near the Baltic Sea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>System energy consumption:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> minimal \u2013 <\/span><b>20 W motors<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> operate in short cycles, having negligible impact on ROI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Power supply:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mostly from own generation; at night, grid power may be used for emergency procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finance &amp; Economics<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>ROI:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> calculated based on Polish electricity prices.
