{"id":20259,"date":"2025-10-21T09:45:20","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T06:45:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aseu.org.ua\/?p=20259"},"modified":"2025-10-21T09:45:20","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T06:45:20","slug":"summary-of-the-joint-meeting-of-seau-s-bess-committee-and-seau-member-company-bt-storage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aseu.org.ua\/en\/summary-of-the-joint-meeting-of-seau-s-bess-committee-and-seau-member-company-bt-storage\/","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the Joint Meeting of SEAU\u2019s BESS Committee and SEAU Member Company BT Storage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine held an open meeting of its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Committee together with the Polish SEAU member company BT Storage on the topic \u201cEnergy Storage in Practice: EPC Support from Experts and BESS Technology Manufacturers.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event took place <\/span><b>online on October 9, 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, bringing together Ukrainian renewable energy professionals, EPC companies, and international experts from Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The meeting was moderated by <\/span><b>Serhii Ruchko<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Head of SEAU\u2019s ESS Committee, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSEAU is not only a platform uniting market participants but also a space for international knowledge exchange. We are grateful to our Polish partners for sharing their practical experience in implementing energy storage systems.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>Piotr Mas\u0142ocha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Technical Project Coordinator at <\/span><b>BT Storage (Poland)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, presented the proven <\/span><b>EPC Ready<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> model, which has demonstrated high efficiency in large-scale energy storage projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>BT Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a team of engineers that designs, integrates, and maintains energy storage systems, providing full-cycle support for EPC companies\u2014from technical design to commissioning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his presentation, <\/span><b>Piotr Mas\u0142ocha<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> highlighted key challenges faced by EPC companies and ways to address them:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Underestimating the role of EMS (Energy Management System)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 the EMS defines the profitability of BESS projects.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Lack of experience in technology selection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 choosing the wrong equipment can lead to incompatibility or reduced efficiency.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Lack of ROI analytics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 investors require clear financial models showing profitability and payback timelines.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>BT Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> provides EPC companies with full support, including technical documentation, ROI modeling, investor consulting, EMS and SCADA integration, as well as local service and personnel training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Patrycja Schenk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Sales Manager at <\/span><b>CHINT Power Systems Poland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, presented the company\u2019s experience in implementing energy storage systems across Europe and Ukraine.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span> <b>CHINT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a global manufacturer of renewable energy and energy storage solutions, operating in more than 40 countries worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the presentation, an example of a <\/span><b>project in Mykolaiv, Ukraine<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, was showcased:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">60 MW of energy storage + 18 MW of solar generation;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use of BESS for grid stabilization, peak shaving, and power balancing;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cooperation with <\/span><b>BT Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as EPC integrator, ensuring rapid commissioning and minimized technical risks.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company operates a <\/span><b>service center and spare parts warehouse<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Kazimierz Wielki (Poland)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, allowing for prompt responses to partner requests from Ukraine and efficient technical maintenance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CHINT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> presented three categories of BESS systems for different scales:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>C&amp;I Turnkey Solution 400V<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 for small and medium-sized businesses;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>All-in-One Liquid Cooling System 800V<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 for medium and large facilities;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Utility-Scale System<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 scalable solutions for large EPC projects.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>collaboration model between BT Storage (EPC integrator)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>CHINT Power Systems (technology manufacturer)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has proven highly effective in Poland and is now being actively adapted for the Ukrainian market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its advantages include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduced project implementation time;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minimized technical risks;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Full local support in Poland and Ukraine;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Proven technologies tested in European projects.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the event, experts provided detailed answers to participants\u2019 questions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Solar Energy Association of Ukraine <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thanks its member company <\/span><b>BT Storage<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and representatives of <\/span><b>CHINT Power Systems Poland<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for their cooperation and practical knowledge exchange.
