The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine (SEAU) served as an information partner of the event, and the Association\u2019s Chairman, Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, took an active part in the program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As part of the conference, Mr. Sokolovskyi conducted a special interview with Andrii Herus, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services, and moderated the first session of the event, focused on the prospects of transforming the Ukrainian energy market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the interview, Mr. Herus outlined three strategic steps needed for the development of Ukraine\u2019s electricity market:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development of distributed generation, which is already being implemented at hospitals, administrative service centers, and enterprises, but requires further regulatory simplification and public awareness support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Formation of a renewable energy market without \u201cgreen\u201d tariffs, demonstrating sector maturity where new projects \u2013 especially wind \u2013 are being implemented on market terms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Active rollout of energy storage systems, which are becoming more affordable, economically viable, and critical for balancing the energy system.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur market needs stability, distributed generation, and decisive steps toward energy storage,\u201d emphasized Mr. Herus.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Sokolovskyi echoed this position:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe definitely expect rapid growth of the energy storage sector in the near future. Many market players have announced their intentions \u2013 DTEK Renewables, for instance, plans to install 200 MW of energy storage capacity. Ancillary services auctions have already taken place in Ukraine, creating the foundation for new project launches. This and next year may become a true breakthrough for storage implementation.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first session of the conference, moderated by Vladyslav Sokolovskyi, focused on the integration of the Ukrainian energy market into the European energy space and its legal transformation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experts discussed the following key market issues:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Implementation of draft law No. 1287D and provisions of RED II\/RED III;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Repayment of debt to renewable energy producers;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preparation for market coupling with the EU;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institutional challenges and investment attractiveness of the market;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improvement of land legislation to support RES development.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the session speakers:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vladyslav Maksakov \u2013 Senior Project Manager for Energy Transition, Recovery and Reform Support Office of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kateryna Danylkova \u2013 Deputy Acting Director of SE \u201cGuaranteed Buyer\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Oleksiy Orzhel \u2013 Head of the Kyiv office of the Energy Community, former Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine (2019\u20132020)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Danyil Petrenko \u2013 Deputy Director General for Development, \u201cMarket Operator\u201d JSC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maksym Yurkov \u2013 Director of Legal Affairs, NPC \u201cUkrenergo\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Serhii Datsiv \u2013 Senior Associate, Energy Practice, Integrites<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The speakers presented both governmental views and legal and technical challenges related to market transformation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discussion confirmed that Ukraine\u2019s energy market is rapidly moving toward European standards, but it requires coordinated efforts from all stakeholders, including parliament, government, business, and the expert community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SEAU thanks the Ukrainian Bar Association for the invitation and the opportunity for dialogue.
