The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine informs you about the opportunity to take the free “Energy Specialist” educational course – an initiative aimed at promoting the energy profession, training new specialists, and developing human capital in Ukraine’s energy sector.
“Energy Specialist” is an educational project launched as part of the educational track of the Ukrainian Energy Initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine, in partnership with DTEK Academy and Optima Distance College. The initiative helps participants acquire basic knowledge of the energy sector and take their first step towards employment in the industry.
What does the course offer?
The course is delivered online, making it accessible to participants from anywhere in Ukraine. The programme consists of seven practical modules covering the fundamentals of electric power engineering, electrical safety, and technical metering. Participants will also receive support from DTEK experts.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a certificate. The course is open to anyone looking to acquire a new qualification, retrain, or start a career in the energy sector.
The first 1,000 participants can take the course free of charge, thanks to funding provided by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine. The project is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO UK).
Opportunities for SEAU Member Companies
An important part of the project is cooperation with employers. The initiative is expanding its network of partner companies to provide course graduates with internship opportunities and help employers identify potential employees.
The following companies have already joined the project: Big Dutchman AG, KNESS, Sunsay NRG, Enerho-Syla Group, Elementum, SPP Development, and NPC Ukrenergo.
A map of partner companies willing to host interns is being developed on the college’s platform. It will include the regions where companies operate, contact persons, and contact details.
SEAU invites its member companies to consider joining the partner map. Participation does not entail any financial commitments but provides an opportunity to receive enquiries from graduates who have successfully completed the course and acquired the basic knowledge required to work in the energy sector.
