As part of the Horizon Europe RETRIEVE project, the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine is conducting a series of interviews with Ukrainian companies operating in the solar energy market.
The interviews aim to gather practical market experience and better understand what currently happens to photovoltaic modules after dismantling or replacement, as well as how a future system for managing PV modules at the end of their service life could be organised.
The discussions cover practical cases of PV module dismantling and replacement, opportunities for reuse and recycling, collection and reverse logistics, and the allocation of responsibility between manufacturers, importers, installers and owners of solar power plants.
Particular attention is given to extended producer responsibility (EPR), equipment traceability and the Digital Product Passport, as well as practical and regulatory barriers to developing a circular PV model in Ukraine.
The findings will contribute to the RETRIEVE analysis of the Ukrainian market and will support the development of recommendations for circular value chains in the solar PV sector.
